Presenter Name: Bidisha Biswas, Associate Professor, Political Science

(Why) Do They Hate Us? Understanding Transnational Terrorism

Bidisha Biswas is on the faculty of the Department of Political Science at Western Washington University. She obtained her doctorate in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland at College Park in 2006. Her work focuses on international security issues, particularly, civil conflict, terrorism, border security and diaspora politics. Bidisha's research has been supported by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism and the Border Policy Research Institute, Western Washington University. She teaches a number of courses in international relations, including on global terrorism, democratization and American foreign policy.
Her presentation will discuss the global terrorism and how it impact US security interests.
